Prague Attractions

Prague has been referred to as the most exciting city in Central Europe. It is the largest city of the Czech Republic located on the Vltava River in central Bohemia.

Approximately 1.2 million people live in Prague. Prague has may nicknames like "city of a hundred spires," "mother of cities," "the golden city," and "the heart of Europe." It is also a traditional cultural center of Europe.

Ever since the end of Communism and the falling of the Iron Curtain in the 1980s, Prague has become one of Europe’s (and some say the world’s) most popular tourist attractions. This is partly to do with the history surrounding Prague. The city was one of the few in Europe that wasn’t damaged by the World Wars.

This means that a lot of its historic architecture is intact. The city is full of varied collections of architecture from different eras like Cubist, Gothic, Neo-Classical, Renaissance, Baroque, and even ultra-modern. Many of these old buildings have beautiful murals.

The city is also full of museums, theaters, and galleries. Nightlife flourishes in Prague, and the city is full of restaurants and places to shop. Guided wine and river tours are also available for tourists. These tours last from two to eight hours.
