When going to Prague, visiting the famous Triton restaurant will probably be on your list of things to do. First opened in 1912, this outstanding restaurant has kept a unique and individual style all its own right up to the present time. The Triton Restaurant is on the small side, giving it an intimate feel. It is located in the cellars of the Adria Hotel, which is found on Wenceslas Square.
The décor of the Triton is unique Art Nouveau, designed and built to look like a stalactite cave. The interior of the restaurant also tells the Greek mythological story of Eurydice and her husband, Orpheus. This is done with statues and sculptures displayed between the stalactites. Other interesting décor includes a large tropical fish tank and inspired lighting. The fish tank adds color to the restaurant interior, while the lighting illuminates the unique surroundings and brings a magical feel to the atmosphere.
The menu at the Triton includes a good combination of Czech and International cuisine. There is a fine wine list, offering a wide variety of tastes to fit any budget. Entertainment at the Triton is a live pianist. This is the entertainment most every evening at the restaurant. Located in close proximity to the Prague State Opera and Wenceslas Square, the Triton is a good choice for dining during your visit.
