Prague Transport

Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in all of Europe. The metro, trams and buses are considered to be the standard mode of transportation for two-thirds of Prague's population. They cover the majority of the city and it surrounding areas. The metro is one way that definitely makes getting around town much easier as it enables you to cover long distances in just a matter of minutes.

If you are flying into Prague, your first priority will be to find a good way to get to your destination from the airport. It is recommended that you use public transport over taking a taxi. This is because the traffic situation in Prague has become absolutely horrible. If you absolutely must drive or take a cab, be warned. Tourist passes are available that enable you to use any type of mass transit while you are in the city. This is true no matter how many times as you want to use the system as long as you stay within the time period for which your pass is valid. A complete list of passes and other ticket information can be found at any of the main offices. Prague is a wonderful city but make your plans wisely when you use the transportation systems here.
