There are six main tourist attractions in Paris that as a traveler you will not want to miss. Some are very popular, such as the Eiffel Tower, and others are less well know but just as interesting and fun. We will go into a brief discussion of the overall six. Over the course of one year, almost 24 million visitors come from all over the world to see these attractions, as well as the many museums and galleries in the city.
The most recognized structure in the world is located in Paris. The Eiffel Tower alone draws the most crowds and you must take the elevator to the top if you stop to visit. The breathtaking view of the city on a clear day is one you will not want to miss. Along with the most recognized structure, Paris features the most famous museum as well. The Louvre Museum exhibits the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and is the oldest museum in all of Europe, having opened its doors for the first time in 1793.
The Centre Pompidou is an unusually designed modern art building where you can go for concerts or to see the cinema. It also features a children's center. For more children's activities, the science center (Cite des Sciences at de I'Industrie) features a number of hands-on exhibits for the kids including exhibits on biology and anatomy.
The Musee d'Orsay is a cozy museum in comParison to the Louver, and used to house the railway station in pairs. It is now an Impressionist Gallery and attracts close to 3 million visitors each year. And speaking of an overview of Paris attractions, be sure to visit the Arc de Triomphe, this arch is not as tall as the tower, but features another breathtaking view of the relatively flat city.
