Jacques Melac Restaurant - Paris

There are two kinds of food that Paris is famous for, wine and cheese. And yes, if you live in Paris, wine is considered not only a food, but a regular part of eating; as important as having a napkin is to socialites. At this restaurant you will find the best of both (wine and cheese that is, not necessarily napkins.)

The hottest and best valued wine bar is Jaques Melac Restaurant, in the Bastille district. Melac's features a robust and heavy cuisine with lots of wine to go with it. As a wine bar, you can order any type of wine from some of the most expensive and aged to a sampler of the many wines of France's various and numerous wine regions. The menu is hearty; preserved duck gizzards and braised beef head up the appetizers, with vast selections of Frances best cheeses to go with it.

Perhaps the best part of this wine bar is monsieur Melac himself. He loves to twirl his mustache as he welcomes you, the atmosphere is one of jolly camaraderie, and you must plan your trip to take advantage of the wonderful party he throws in his private vineyard out back during harvest season.
