National Portrait Gallery - London

London’s portrait collection is located in the National Portrait Gallery. A visit to London must include a look at the various people that make London what it is and what it was. You will find those people, both the good and the bad, portrayed in these portraits. You will find that they date back to the Tudor’s and run through the present time. You can see the Tudor Gallery where you will find some of the earliest types of these portraits located. In the Balcony Gallery, you can enjoy portraits from the 1960’s through the 1980’s.

The portraits located in the National Portrait Gallery come in all sorts of styles from oils to watercolors. You can also enjoy sculptures and drawings. Still there is much more to do here. During some times during the year, there are specific exhibits for various artists. You can even find those programs, especially around the holidays designed specifically for children. Enjoy the IT Gallery, the lectures and the guided tours that are offered. You should stop by the state of the art lecture theatre as well.

The National Portrait Gallery is located at St Martin’s Place, London, WC2H 0HE. It is open all year round minus some holidays.
