With a contemporary touch and a distinct West Javanese/Bandung accent, the menu, which showcases talent in contemporary Indonesian cooking, changes seasonally.
Menu items span from the classic “rijsttafel,” or wild orchid, to dishes that are so polished and exquisite they are virtually unknown outside the exclusive quarters of Bandung, Jakarta and other cosmopolitan cities. Guests are invited to match the flavors of Southeast Asian ingredients with world-class wines. The wine cellar at Blue Pepper, which complements the restaurant's quest for evolution, is called one of the most unusual and extensive collections of New World wines. Wines are specifically chosen to match each food's flavor.
Since Blue Pepper opened its doors in 2002, the restaurant has received countless honors in the Netherlands and from abroad. Sonja Pereira, executive chef, has been called the second best lady chef in Amsterdam by culinary critic IENS (2006).
